
Draft Modified Bloxham Neighbourhood Plan — The Plan is now being progressed to the examination stage by Cherwell District Council. Once it has been examined, a referendum will be held. There are no timescales for the examination or the referendum at this time.
Annual Parish Meeting — The Bloxham Annual Parish Meeting is being held on Wednesday 22 April 2026 at 7pm at Jubilee Hall, Bloxham. All residents are invited along to hear about the work of the Parish Council over the last 12 month.
Hedges & Trees — Residents are kindly reminded that they need to ensure that any hedges/ trees/bushes on their land, do not encroach onto the roads or footpaths. There are examples of hedges which are covering the footpaths and footpath users are having to move into the road, which is clearly very unsafe.
Elections — There are Parish Council elections on Thursday 7 May 2026. If any residents are interested in standing as a Councillor and would like to join our friendly team, please contact the Clerk for more information.
Mailing List — The Parish Council has set up a mailing list to enable residents to be regularly updated on issues affecting the village. If you would like to be added to the mailing list, please visit the Parish Council website to sign up.
Traffic Calming — The Traffic Calming Working Group is continuing to work on a number of projects, including the Community Speedwatch Scheme, replacement 20mph signs and various measures around the Primary School. More details are available on the Parish Council web site.
Anti-Social Behaviour — There have been reports of anti-social behaviour at the David Tyrrell Recreation Ground and also at St Mary’s Church. Thames Valley Police will be requested to monitor both areas and carry out spot checks.
Spring Clean and Litter Pick 2026 — The Parish Council will be arranging a village litter pick. Please keep your eye on social media and the Council’s web site for further information.
Local Government Reorganisation — The Parish Council felt that without more information on the reorganisation and the potential impact on Parish Councils, it is unable to submit a response supporting or objecting to any of the three options which have been put forward.
Potential Weight Limit — The County Council will be contacted regarding an application for a weight limit along Strawberry Terrace and Brickle Lane, given the very large vehicles which use these narrow roads. Grass verges, kerbs and parked cars are being damaged on a regular basis.
Flooding — The Working Group is continuing its work on various projects in the village and more information is available on the Parish Council’s web site. Councillor Neil Hegarty and his team were thanked for all their hard work addressing the issue and working with various organisations and land owners to help protect residents’ properties from future flooding.
The Slade — Marie Jones gave an excellent presentation to the Parish Council on the work being carried out at The Slade and how she is engaging the community, especially children, to become interested in wildlife and biodiversity. Marie was thanked for all of her efforts, which are very much appreciated by the Parish Council and the community.
Defibrillator Training Course — The Parish Council is funding four defib training courses at Jubilee Hall, Bloxham. If you would like to attend, please email clerk@bloxhamparishcouncil.gov.uk for more details. The first course is being held on 18 April 2026, with three more to follow. Dates are yet to be confirmed.
