Parish Council Notes – Jan 2026

BLOXHAM PARISH COUNCIL  Newsletter- Jan 2026

Line Marking on Courtington Lane — Single and double yellow lines will be painted on  Courtington Lane as agreed by the County Council back in March 2025, following consultation with  residents. The work will be completed when the weather improves. The Parish Council thanks residents  for their patience whilst the project progresses.

Draft Modified Bloxham  

Neighbourhood Plan — Cherwell  District Council’s consultation period on  the Draft Plan started on Monday 8  December 2025 and ends on Sunday 1  February 2026. Information is available  online on CDC’s web site and paper copies  of the Plan are available at Adderbury  Library, White Lion Café and the CDC  offices in Castle Quay in Banbury.

Annual Parish Meeting — The

Bloxham Annual Parish Meeting is being  held on Wednesday 22 April 2026 at 7pm  at Jubilee Hall, Bloxham. All residents  are invited along to hear about the work  of the Parish Council over the last 12  month.

Sean Woodcock MP — A number  of actions were agreed at the meeting  with Sean Woodcock MP on 7 November 2025, but the Parish Council has yet to receive an update on  their progress.

David Tyrrell Recreation Ground — Three Parish Councillors and the Clerk will be  attending a meeting of the Trustees to establish the support which is required to secure the future of  the Recreation Ground. A couple of members of the community have already volunteered to help and if  anyone else is interested, please contact the Clerk.

Elections — There are Parish Council elections on Thursday 7 May 2026. If any residents are  interested in standing as a Councillor and would like to join our friendly team, please contact the Clerk for  more information.

Mailing List — The Parish Council has set up a mailing list to enable residents to be regularly  updated on issues affecting the village. If you would like to be added to the mailing list, please visit the  Parish Council website to sign up.

Traffic Calming — The Traffic Calming Working Group is continuing to work on a number of  projects, including the outstanding yellow lining on Courtington Lane and traffic issues around the Primary  School and Secondary Schools. If residents drive to the Schools, please park considerately as there are  many example of dangerous parking around these areas. Please also avoid blocking Ells Lane with parked  vehicles. The Community Speed Watch Scheme is continuing to monitor traffic speeds around the village.

Christmas Tree — John Wyatt is thanked for providing the village Christmas Tree again this year  and for the help from his staff to erect it.

Memorial Bench — A memorial bench will be located at the end of Gascoigne Way, dedicated to  Bill Richardson who recently passed away, subject to permission from the County Council. The Parish  Council will be working with the Royal British Legion and Bill’s family on the details.

Drop-In and Chat at Ex-Servicemen’s Hall, 1030am to 1130am on the  second Saturday of the month
