Chairman and Vice-Chairman 2026/2027 — Councillor Alex Harrison has been  appointed as Chairman of the Parish Council for 2026/2027 and Councillor Joanna Barton has been  appointed as Vice-Chairman for 2026/2027.

Hedges & Trees — Residents are kindly reminded that they need to ensure that any hedges/ trees/bushes on their land, do not encroach onto the roads or footpaths. There are examples of hedges  which are covering the footpaths and footpath users are having to move into the road, which is clearly  very unsafe.

Elections — There was an uncontested Parish Council election on Thursday 7 May 2026 and ten  Councillors were elected. Therefore, there are two vacancies on the Parish Council and if any residents  are interested in standing as a Councillor and would like to join our friendly team, please contact the Clerk  for more information.

Draft Modified Bloxham Neighbourhood Plan — The Plan has been through the  examination process and the Parish Council is now waiting for Cherwell District Council to advise on the  next steps. There will be a village referendum in due course.

Adult Gym Equipment — Quotes for adult gym equipment to be located at Jubilee Park are  being investigated, including a new footpath to the site of the equipment.

Health & Wellbeing Group — The project is now being led by Councillor Alex Harrison and he  has engaged a number of village organisations who will also be joining the Group. These include  Biodiversity Bloxham, St Mary’s Church, Bloxham Holistic Collective and Bloxham Surgery.

Parking on Double Yellow Lines — A number of drivers are parking their vehicles on the  double yellow lines on Courtington Lane, therefore, Thames Valley Police will be asked to monitor the area  and issue parking fines, if necessary.

Traffic Calming — Councillors are continuing to work with County Councillor David Hingley in  respect of traffic calming measures around the Primary School. The County Council will also be contacted  about the long overdue replacement 20mph VAS’. The Community Speed Watch Scheme will also be  monitoring traffic speeds over the coming weeks.

Planters — Biodiversity Bloxham are thanked for their work replanting the planters at the two  entrances to the village.

Flooding — Work is continuing to apply for grant funding from the County Council to introduce flood  mitigation measures at The Slade. The planned works to the drain line under Bloxham School car park  might be delayed because tenders for the works have come in over budget. There will be an update in due  course.

Church Flood Lights — The project to install new lights at the Church has been completed. The  Council hopes that residents are pleased with the replacements.

Sewage in Bloxham Brook — Environment Agency monitoring data shows that the Bloxham  Wastewater Treatment Works discharged sewage into the Brook 71 times in 2024, totalling 1,124 hours,  the equivalent of around 46 days. Thames Water has recently offered a guided tour of the Works and  representatives from Bloxham and Adderbury will be attending, along with District Councillor Rob  Pattenden.
