A Spire Thankyou – May 2020

Controversy may rage over the response to the pandemic by Cummings et al but you’ll not find many people who don’t appreciate the commitment of those at the front-line in the NHS.
The wonderful spire of Bloxham Church -the tallest in Oxfordshire – has for a number of years been illuminated from darkness to midnight.
Because of the lighter evenings you may not have noticed – but recently blue filters were installed on the lights to add a little extra “Thankyou” to all those front-line NHS workers.

Thanks to Amanda Baxter for these great photos.

…. and to Dave Andrews who installed the filters.

Thank you for agreeing Dale – and for sorting it out. The church always looks stunning but even more so at the moment! I have to admit to a lump in my throat when I saw it last night x

Amanda made the original suggestion for the blue spire light NHS tribute. It’s good her photos can let everyone see the result!
