OUR FIRST BLOXHAM FARMERS’ MARKET… a wild success!

A huge THANK YOU to customers and stallholders who attended the village’s first-ever farmers’ market! This not-for-profit market was organised for community benefit, showcasing local, organic and sustainable produce, by a dedicated team of Biodiversity Bloxham volunteers – well done Jackie, Rowena, Lauren & col
The January market featured bread & pastries from Bodicote Baker; fruit, veg, dairy, meat & eggs from North Aston Farm Shop: honey & beeswax candles from Helen’s Local Honey; jams & chutneys from Ma’amalady; fresh & dried flowers from Bunch; household & store cupboard essentials from Nothing but Footprints; books from Linda Newbery; bug houses & bird boxes from Bee Happy; and native wild birdseed refills from BB.
Anne & Mandeep’s cake stall raised £298 for Chrissie’s Owis – thanks for all the cake-making, home-bakers! Bloxham School raised £60 for ActionAid selling chocolate. hearts, and Community First Responder Alex raised £48 for South Central Ambulance Service.
Breakfast baps & hot drinks served from David & Martin’s Fairtrade kitchen raised £311 for Katharine House Hospice with thanks to Bloxham Co-op for donating coffee & hot chocolate, Nothing but Footprints for tea, Ampersand Dairy for butter, North Aston Farm Shop for eggs (& cost-price bacon), and Philip for homemade milk-bread rolls!

As one excited local visitor proclaimed – “This is community!”
