Bloxham Village History Club is organising a trip to The National Memorial Arboretum (NMA) in Staffordshire and non-members are welcome to join us.

The NMA is part of the Royal British Legion. It contains almost 400 memorials nestled amongst some 25,000 trees.

During your visit you can experience riverside walks and participate in a wide variety of daily activities: guided walks, land train tours, memorial talks, exhibitions and buggy tours.

There is a restaurant and coffee shop, a shop and a Memorial Chapel where a daily act of remembrance takes place.

The basic outline of the day is as follows:

• Pick up in Bloxham      8:45am
• Arrive at Arboretum     10:15am
• Leave at               3:00pm
• Arrive back             4:45pm

Entry to the Arboretum itself is free – you would just have to pay a cost towards the coach. This will be £16 per person.  The coach will be air-conditioned and have an on-board WC.

There is an optional Land Train Tour with pre-recorded commentary which explores the grounds and the memorials you see along the way. This costs an additional £6.50.

There is a Daily Act of Remembrance in the Millennium Chapel at 11am. This is free. You can participate in this Act of Remembrance and observe a moving two-minute silence in the Millennium Chapel. You will need to be seated by 10.50am in the Chapel for the consideration of others.
